📖 About this tool

Anchor text is the clickable wording of a link: it tells both search engines and readers what the target page is about, and it is the most often neglected part of internal linking. After pasting HTML source, this tool extracts every a tag, splits them into internal and external using the domain you enter, and lists them separately while counting total links, internal and external counts, unique anchor text and nofollow attributes. It also checks four common problems: links with empty anchor text, links containing only an image and no text, meaningless anchors such as "click here" or "more", and anchor text that repeats, with the number of occurrences. Meaningless anchors leave search engines unable to tell what the target page covers, while repeated anchors can push several pages into competing for the same term. Results can be exported as CSV for further filtering. The source is parsed only on your own machine. Typical uses include auditing internal links after a redesign, checking whether navigation and body links meet the standard, and planning anchor distribution for important pages.
