📖 Tool Introduction

The Fuel Consumption Calculator is built for drivers and car shoppers who want to know the real cost of running a vehicle from the simplest possible fill-up record. All you do is remember three numbers after every time you fill the tank: how many kilometres you drove since the last fill, how many litres you pumped in this time, and the price you paid per litre. Type those three figures into the tool and it instantly returns your consumption in litres per hundred kilometres, which is the standard way car owners compare efficiency. On top of that, it works out how much this tank actually cost and what every single kilometre you drive costs you in fuel, and once you also enter your tank capacity it estimates how far a full tank should take you. The interface puts the headline consumption number on a bold blue card so it jumps out at you, and arranges the three supporting metrics as smaller tiles beneath it. Because this method divides litres actually bought by kilometres actually driven, it is closer to real-world usage than the dashboard readout, and it makes it easy to watch how consumption changes after an oil change, a long motorway run or the arrival of winter. Every calculation runs locally in your browser and nothing is uploaded. The interface ships in Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese and English, so you can run it on your phone while you are standing at the pump. Keeping a running log this way also turns the tool into a small fuel diary: after a few fill-ups you can compare numbers and spot whether a tank of city traffic really guzzles more than the motorway runs you do on weekends, or whether the price change at the station is the only thing that moved your per-kilometre cost.

✨ Key Features

  • Litres per 100 km: actual litres divided by distance, the truest measure of consumption
  • Cost per kilometre: combines price and consumption to price every kilometre you drive
  • Fill-up cost: litres times price, so you see exactly what this tank cost
  • Tank range: with your tank size entered, estimates how far a full tank lasts
  • Bold result card: consumption stands out, with supporting metrics layered below
  • One-click copy: all four figures can be copied for long-term comparison

📝 How to Use

  1. Enter the kilometres driven between the last two fills in the distance field
  2. Enter the number of litres pumped this time
  3. Enter the price per litre; tank capacity is optional
  4. Click Calculate to read the bold consumption figure on the blue card
  5. Check the three smaller tiles for cost and range, and copy the result if needed

⚠️ Notes

  • Method: fill to full each time so the tank level matches between records for accuracy
  • Single estimate: one tank is affected by traffic and driving style, so average several runs
  • Valid input: distance and litres must be greater than zero, and price cannot be negative
  • Range is rough: real range shifts with load, air conditioning and road conditions
  • Privacy: all math runs in the browser and no fill-up record leaves your device
