📖 Tool Introduction

The Random Number Generator is a free online tool built for creating test data, lucky draws, sampling experiments, algorithm verification and classroom demos. There are many moments when you need a batch of numbers that fall inside a specified range: unit tests need boundary values, a product team needs to run a raffle, a data lesson needs to demonstrate a sampling distribution, and frontend integration needs placeholder order amounts filled in bulk. This tool distils all of those needs into four numeric inputs - minimum, maximum, count and decimals - plus three toggles and an optional seed box. You can ask for dozens or even up to a thousand numbers at once, and they appear line by line in the output box, ready to be copied or downloaded as a text file. What sets it apart from a quick throwaway script is reproducibility: if you type a fixed seed, the tool runs the classic mulberry32 pseudo-random algorithm, and the same seed combined with the same options produces the exact same sequence every single time, which is invaluable when you are debugging a random scenario that must be reproduced. Leave the seed empty and it falls back to the browser's native random source for genuinely unpredictable results. A dedup switch guarantees every output is unique, a sort toggle orders the results, the decimal setting controls precision, and if the minimum is larger than the maximum the bounds are swapped automatically. Everything runs locally in the browser with no network calls and no uploads, so it is ready whenever you are. This makes it a much faster choice than opening a console and jotting down a few lines of code whenever a colleague asks for a quick set of sample numbers during a meeting. Because the seeded path is deterministic, you can also hand the same seed to someone else and be certain they will see the identical list, which takes the guesswork out of reproducing flaky tests that depend on a random draw.

✨ Key Features

  • Flexible range: any lower and upper bound, with integer or decimal precision
  • Batch generation: up to 1000 numbers at once, one per line
  • Auto dedup: every result is guaranteed unique when enabled
  • Ascending sort: order the results from smallest to largest in one click
  • Fixed seed: mulberry32 algorithm, same input yields the same sequence
  • Copy and download: copy the result or export it as a text file

📝 How to Use

  1. Fill in the minimum, maximum and how many numbers you need
  2. Set decimals if you want fractions, or leave 0 for integers
  3. Optionally enable dedup and sorting, or type a fixed seed
  4. Click Generate and watch the results fill the output box
  5. Copy the results or download them as a text file

⚠️ Notes

  • Dedup truncation: in dedup mode the result is truncated and reported if the range has fewer unique values than requested
  • Seed semantics: a fixed seed is for reproducible debugging, not for cryptographic security
  • Inclusive bounds: the generated range includes both endpoints, a closed interval
  • Decimal precision: values are rounded to the chosen decimals to avoid floating drift
  • Count cap: at most 1000 per run to keep the output fast and readable
