Emoji Letter Encoder
How to Use
📖 Tool Introduction
The Emoji Letter Encoder is a playful online encoding utility that maps every English letter to a Unicode regional indicator symbol. Regional indicators are a special block of characters running from U+1F1E6 to U+1F1FF, where letter A maps to U+1F1E6, letter B maps to U+1F1E7, and so on all the way through Z. On nearly every modern system, two adjacent regional indicators automatically stitch together into a national flag: the pair CN renders as the flag of China and the pair US renders as the flag of the United States. That is why turning an ordinary English word into regional indicators produces what looks like a string of colourful little flags, which is perfect for crafting a distinctive nickname, a social-media bio, a hidden message or a fun poster. The tool supports not only the forward letter-to-emoji direction but also the reverse, turning a string of indicators back into plain letters. A central swap button sits between the two panels and copies the current result into the input while flipping the direction, so you can bounce back and forth effortlessly. Non-alphabetic characters such as digits, punctuation and spaces are preserved exactly and never altered. All the computation happens locally inside your browser, with no network request and no upload, keeping your data private. The interface follows the site theme, is available in Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese and English, and works smoothly on both phones and desktops. Because nothing leaves the device, the tool also behaves the same way on slow or offline connections, and the instant-as-you-type preview means you see the flag string the moment you finish a word, with no button to press before the result appears. Because the mapping is purely arithmetic, the same letters always produce the identical sequence of regional indicators on every device and in every browser, which makes the output deterministic and easy to verify. You can use the tool to decorate a nickname, build a playful coded message for friends, test how a platform renders pairs of flag symbols, or simply learn where the regional indicator block sits in Unicode. The central swap button also doubles as a quick way to check your own understanding: type a word, swap directions, and confirm that the letters you get back match what you started with.
✨ Key Features
- Standard mapping: A through Z correspond exactly to U+1F1E6 through U+1F1FF
- Bidirectional: letters to emoji, and emoji back to letters
- One-click swap: the central button flips direction and refills the result
- Flag stitching: adjacent pairs form flags on supported systems
- Pass-through: digits, punctuation and spaces are left untouched
- Fully local: offline computation with zero network requests
📝 How to Use
- Type the English letters or a word into the left input box

- Click the central swap button to refill the result and switch to reverse mode
- In reverse mode, paste the emoji string to restore plain letters

⚠️ Notes
- Rendering dependent: whether indicators show as flags depends on the OS and font
- Pair forms flag: a single indicator is just a coloured block; two adjacent ones make a flag
- Non-letters kept: digits, punctuation and spaces are output unchanged
- Case free: upper and lower case letters map to the same indicator
- Platform support: older devices or plain-text environments may show letter codes instead of flags
