Leetspeak Converter
How to Use
📖 Tool Introduction
The Leetspeak Converter is a playful encoding utility that rewrites ordinary English into the number-and-symbol slang known as 1337, where a becomes 4, e becomes 3, i becomes 1, o becomes 0, s becomes 5 and t becomes 7. Leet, also written as 1337, originated in early hacker and gaming communities, using look-alike digits and symbols to stand in for letters, both to dodge keyword filters and to make nicknames and secret messages look cooler. This tool ships with a common leetspeak dictionary covering high-frequency letters such as a, b, c, e, g, h, i, l, o, s, t and z. Unlike similar tools, the dictionary here is fully editable: you can change the replacement character for any letter directly in the dictionary panel below, or leave a cell empty to skip that letter entirely, and the conversion updates the moment you make a change. The tool also supports the reverse direction: flip the switch to turn a leet string back into plain readable text. Letters, digits and punctuation that are not in the dictionary are preserved exactly and never altered. Everything runs locally inside your browser with no network access and no upload, so it is perfect for crafting a distinctive nickname, a gaming handle, a social bio or a fun coded message. The interface follows the site theme, is available in Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese and English, and works smoothly on phones and desktops. Because the dictionary is yours to reshape, you can build a personal cipher style that no generic translator offers, and the instant-as-you-type preview means you never have to guess how a word will look before you commit to copying it. Because every replacement is taken from your own editable dictionary, the same input always produces the same output, and you can experiment freely without breaking the classic defaults, which makes the tool equally useful for learning how online subcultures stylise text and for crafting your own distinctive handle.

⚠️ Notes
- Replacement conflicts: when two letters share a symbol, decoding keeps the first match
- Blank skips: clearing a replacement cell leaves that letter untouched
- Case free: conversion ignores case, so both A and a are replaced
- Non-letters kept: digits, spaces and punctuation are outside the map and stay unchanged
- Not persisted: refreshing restores the default dictionary, so note your custom tweaks
