📖 Tool Introduction

The M3U Playlist Maker is a completely free, purely local browser tool that turns a folder full of loose audio files into a standard playlist in seconds. M3U is the universal playlist format understood by nearly every media player ever made: a plain text file that lists each track's relative path and title, so the player can play your collection back-to-back without you clicking through every song. You simply click the upload area to multi-select MP3, WAV, OGG, M4A or FLAC files, or drag a whole bunch in at once, and the tool lists them in the order you added them together with each file size, while live-generating a proper #EXTM3U header and #EXTINF entries in the preview box below. Every track is written as a relative path using the real file name, spaces and Chinese characters fully preserved, and the downloaded playlist.m3u placed next to your audio folder will start gapless playback in any desktop or mobile player. The tool only reads file names and sizes on your device; the actual audio bytes are never uploaded, so even a private collection stays private. If you added a track by mistake, a small remove button on the right of each row deletes just that entry, and Clear empties the whole list when you want to start over. There is no network call, no installation and no account, which makes it a handy companion for tidying personal music libraries, grouping lecture recordings, archiving podcast episodes, or preparing a USB drive for a car stereo that supports playlists. The whole job is a few clicks: select your tracks, eyeball the generated text, save one small file, and you are done. Since the playlist only stores references rather than copies, it adds almost no extra disk space, and because it is plain UTF-8 text you can even open the saved file in any editor to rename entries or reorder them by hand.

✨ Key Features

  • Multi-select import: pick or drag in many tracks at once, non-audio files are skipped
  • Standard format: emits a correct #EXTM3U header and #EXTINF entries, broadly compatible
  • Relative paths: tracks are listed by file name next to your audio folder
  • CJK friendly: Chinese names and spaces are kept as-is, no escaping needed
  • Per-row remove: an ✕ button on every row lets you drop unwanted entries
  • Live preview: the M3U text updates instantly so you can check before downloading

📝 How to Use

  1. Click the upload area to select several audio files, or drag them in
  2. Check the track order and press ✕ to remove entries you do not want
  3. Review the generated M3U text in the preview box
  4. Press Download .m3u to save playlist.m3u locally
  5. Put the .m3u next to your audio folder and open it in a player to play continuously

⚠️ Notes

  • Paths: the list stores relative names, keep the m3u in the same folder as the audio
  • Order: tracks follow the order you added them, arrange files first
  • Durations: browsers cannot read local durations, so entries show unknown length
  • Privacy: only names and sizes are read, audio bytes never leave your device
  • Compatibility: only an index is produced, playback depends on your player and codecs
