curl Command Builder
curl Command Builder
Method / URL / headers / body → paste-ready curl command
How to Use
📖 Tool Introduction
curl is the workhorse of backend debugging, but hand-writing the command line is where developers lose ten minutes at a time to quotes, newlines and escaping. Double quotes inside a JSON body need escaping, a password containing spaces needs to be wrapped, and once you stack three custom headers the whole command collapses onto one unreadable line. This builder takes over all of those fiddly rules. Choose an HTTP method, type in the URL, add header rows one by one, paste in the request body, and tick the switches you need such as -i, -v, -k and -L; within a second you get a fully assembled curl command, pretty-printed across multiple backslash-terminated lines, with every argument wrapped in safe single quotes, ready to paste straight into a terminal. The escaping logic follows bash single-quote rules, so any value containing spaces, quotes or backslashes is wrapped correctly without you ever touching it again. The whole assembly happens inside your browser: no request is sent, no endpoint is called, and nothing leaves your machine, which makes it safe to use even while putting together calls against internal or staging APIs. The output can also be downloaded as a .sh script, so a finished request becomes a reusable snippet that lives in your own notes.
Writing curl by hand means remembering dozens of flags and, worse, remembering how to quote values safely. A URL with an ampersand, a header containing spaces, or a JSON body with double quotes all break naive shell quoting. This builder wraps each argument the way a POSIX shell expects, escaping embedded single quotes into the classic close-quote-escape-open sequence, so the command you copy really does run the first time. Switching methods, adding timeouts, or toggling the silent flag updates the preview instantly without any reformatting step.
✨ Key Features
- Seven methods: GET, POST, PUT, PATCH, DELETE, HEAD and OPTIONS in one dropdown
- Dynamic headers: add or remove Name: Value rows freely, each becomes a -H argument
- Request body: --data-raw is added automatically for POST/PUT/PATCH and JSON stays intact
- Common switches: -i, -v, -k and -L toggle on demand without memorising flags
- Safe quoting: values with spaces or special characters are wrapped and escaped automatically
- Pretty output: multi-line formatting keeps the command readable, and one click copies or downloads it
📝 How to Use
- Pick the HTTP method from the dropdown, for example POST
- Type the full request URL into the URL field
- Add header rows with name and value; use the plus button for more rows and the cross to remove a row
- Paste JSON or form data into the body box, and tick any extra flags you need
- Click Build command, then copy the result from the dark code block or download it as a script
⚠️ Notes
- Quoting rules: the output follows bash single-quote rules; Windows cmd needs different wrapping
- -k caution: skipping certificate verification is meant only for self-signed test setups, never production
- Sensitive data: the command may contain tokens or passwords, so review it before sharing
- Body handling: GET and HEAD normally carry no body, but the tool appends whatever you provide
- Fully local: no network request is made; the command only runs when you execute it yourself
