Password Generator
How to Use
📖 Tool Introduction
Password Generator is a completely free, instant-use online tool for creating strong passwords. It solves the everyday problem people face when signing up for accounts: they struggle to invent a new password each time, yet they know reusing the same weak password across sites is a serious security risk. Instead of relying on the predictable output of Math.random, this tool calls the browser built-in crypto.getRandomValues interface to draw candidate characters, then shuffles the result with a Fisher-Yates algorithm so that every digit is genuinely unpredictable. You can freely set the password length from six up to sixty four characters, tick exactly which character sets you want to include such as uppercase letters, lowercase letters, digits and symbols, choose how many passwords to generate in one batch between one and twenty, and optionally turn on the exclude similar characters switch to remove confusing glyphs like zero, capital O, one, lowercase L and capital I, which is especially helpful when a password has to be read out loud over the phone. After each batch is generated, the tool computes the information entropy from the pool size and the length, then shows a colored meter on the right that grades every password as weak, fair, strong or very strong, so you can immediately tell whether it meets the target site policy. Everything happens locally inside your browser: no password ever leaves the device, no server sees the output, and nothing is logged. This is the kind of small utility that should live in every bookmarks bar, because strong unique passwords are the single most effective defense against credential stuffing and account takeovers.
✨ Key Features
- Crypto-grade randomness: uses crypto.getRandomValues instead of Math.random for truly unpredictable output
- Flexible length: a live slider covers six to sixty four characters, from casual accounts to financial systems
- Charset mixing: uppercase, lowercase, digits and symbols combine freely, and each chosen set appears at least once
- Similar-char filter: strips 0O1lI and lookalikes, making passwords easy to dictate over the phone
- Entropy-based meter: colors each password weak through very strong based on real bits of entropy
- Batch and copy: generate up to twenty at once, then copy one or all straight to the clipboard
📝 How to Use
- Drag the length slider and pick a suitable length, ideally twelve characters or more
- Tick the character sets you want included in the password
- Type how many passwords you want to create in the batch size field
- Click the Generate button and watch the list on the right fill up with strength meters
- Click the copy button next to any row, or use Copy All to grab the whole batch
⚠️ Notes
- Local only: every password is produced inside your browser and never sent over the network
- Save it now: copy generated passwords into a password manager immediately, they cannot be recovered after closing the page
- Never reuse: do not reuse one password across multiple sites, generate a fresh one for each account
- Length guidance: for sensitive accounts aim for sixteen characters or more with all four sets enabled
- Compatibility: some systems forbid certain symbols, so adjust the symbol set if a site rejects your password
