China Public Holiday Lookup

How to Use
📖 Tool Introduction
Look up the official public holiday schedule published by the State Council, by year: the dates of each holiday, how many days it runs, and which weekends are turned into working days.
The make-up days are what most people actually want to know. To build a long break, weekends around a holiday get converted into workdays, and the 2026 Spring Festival nine-day break costs two Saturdays, 14 and 28 February. Those dates are listed explicitly so you can plan around them.
The summary gives total days off, the number of holidays and the number of make-up workdays. The total is the sum of holiday lengths rather than the number of days you are actually away from work, because it counts weekends that fall inside a break.
Rules changed from 2025: public holidays went from eleven days to thirteen, adding Lunar New Year Eve and 2 May. Spring Festival now runs eight days from the eve, and Labour Day is two days plus a weekend for five, with one fewer make-up day than before. All of that shows up in the results.
The data comes from the official State Council notice, and each year schedule is usually published the November before. Everything runs locally, so nothing is uploaded, and the schedule is available even when the notice itself is hard to reach.
Two questions usually drive a lookup: when can I book travel, and which weekends will I actually be working. The table answers both in one pass, because the make-up workdays sit next to the holidays they pay for rather than in a separate notice. Employers occasionally set their own arrangements on top, so if your company calendar disagrees with what you see here, the company calendar is the one that applies to you.

⚠️ Things to Note
- Data source: Compiled from the annual holiday notices issued by the State Council, with the specific notice named for each year
- Publication timing: Next year schedule is normally published the November before. Until then it cannot be looked up, so watch for the official notice
- Total days off: The total is the sum of holiday lengths and counts weekends inside a break, so it is not the number of days you are actually off work
- Make-up rules: Working stretches around a public holiday are generally kept to six days or fewer; the exact make-up dates follow that year notice
- Privacy: The data ships inside the plugin and everything runs locally. Nothing you type is sent anywhere
