Sensitive Word Checker
How to Use
🛡️ Sensitive Word Checker
This tool scans a passage of text for sensitive or prohibited words. Paste the content you want checked into the input box, press the check button, and any hits are marked out along with a count and their positions, so you can jump to the exact sentence. Everything runs locally in the browser and nothing is uploaded.
Beyond the built-in dictionary, you can extend the word list yourself: enter one word per line into the custom dictionary box, and both the built-in and custom lists apply during a scan. Once hits are found, a single click replaces them with asterisk masks, and you can copy the sanitised text straight to wherever you plan to publish it.
It fits a self-review before posting a comment or article, checking whether a product description trips a marketplace blacklist, tidying up user-generated content in batches, or giving team copy a quick compliance pass.
The checker reports what it finds rather than deciding for you. Because every platform maintains its own list and updates it on its own schedule, treat the output as a useful filter that catches obvious problems early, not as a guarantee that a platform will accept the text.
Words are matched as plain substrings, so punctuation or spacing inside a phrase will break the match. If a variant keeps slipping through, add that exact spelling to the custom list and rescan; the checker learns only what you give it.
The mask replaces each matched word with asterisks of the same length, which keeps the sentence readable while hiding the term. Copy the masked version rather than editing around it, so you do not reintroduce a word you meant to remove.
✨ Features
- Scans text and lists every sensitive word it finds
- Hit positions are marked so you can locate the exact sentence
- Custom dictionary support, one word per line, merged with the built-in list
- One click replaces hits with asterisk masks
- Counts total hits and distinct words, so the result is easy to read
- Fully local: the text never reaches a server
🚀 How to Use
- Paste or type the text you want checked into the input box
- To extend the list, add words one per line in the custom dictionary box
- Press the check button and wait for the scan to finish
- Review the result area: which words matched, how many, and where
- Optionally press the replace button to mask them, then copy the cleaned text
⚠️ Notes
- Dictionary coverage is limited: the built-in list cannot mirror every rule on every platform, so treat results as a hint rather than a substitute for the platform own review
- Rules differ per platform: the same word may pass on one site and be blocked on another, so the target platform result is what counts
- False positives happen: ordinary words containing a sensitive substring can be flagged, so judge each hit in context
- Custom lists are not saved: refreshing clears what you typed, so keep a copy of any list you reuse
- Very long text is slower: scanning tens of thousands of characters takes time, so consider splitting it into chunks
