Wordbook
How to Use
📖 Tool Introduction
Wordbook is a completely free, offline vocabulary collector and self-quizzing tool built for language learners who run into new words while reading. Whenever you meet an unfamiliar word, you can add it to the book right away, and every entry holds three pieces of information: the word itself, its meaning, and an example sentence. That example sentence is more than decoration, because seeing a word used in a real sentence anchors it in context far better than staring at a bare translation, and it also teaches collocation and tone that a definition alone can never convey. Once collected, your words line up as a tidy list of cards, where a coloured bar on the left edge immediately tells you which entries you have already mastered. The signature feature is the four-choice quiz: the tool shows you a random word and offers four meanings, and you pick the correct one. Right answers are instantly tagged as mastered, while wrong answers flash the correct meaning on screen and pause for a moment so you really take it in. Each round runs to five questions and closes with a small score so you can see your pace at a glance. The whole book, together with your mastery marks, is persisted inside your browser automatically, which means you can close the page, come back tomorrow, and find everything exactly where you left it, with no account and no sync required. The list can be copied as plain text or downloaded as a file for backup or printing, and a twelve-word English sample library ships inside the page so that the very first visit already demonstrates the complete loop of adding, listing and quizzing without any setup on your part. Because the whole tool is self-contained, it runs just as well on a slow hotel network or on a plane in offline mode, which makes it a reliable companion for commuters, travellers and exam candidates who study in snatched moments between other commitments, and students can even keep their book open in a browser tab during a reading session to capture words the moment they meet them.
