How to Use

📖 Tool Introduction

The all format text converter moves structured data between fifteen formats entirely inside the browser. Paste content on the left, choose the source and target formats, press one button and the result appears on the right, ready to copy or download as a file.

The supported formats are JSON, XML, YAML, TOML, INI, Properties, CSV, TSV, SQL, Markdown, HTML, JS, Base64, URL encoded and plain text. Between them they cover configuration files, API payloads, tabular data, document content and encoded strings, which is what usually needs converting into something else.

The approach is to parse into one shared intermediate structure and then serialise into the target. Tabular formats such as CSV, TSV, SQL, JSON arrays and HTML tables take the two dimensional route. Key value formats such as JSON objects, YAML, TOML, INI, Properties and XML take the nested object route. Plain text formats such as Markdown, HTML, Base64, URL and TXT take the string route. All three routes convert into each other, so YAML configuration can become a CSV table, a CSV table can become SQL insert statements and JSON can become XML.

Parameters are offered where the target format needs them. Indent controls JSON and XML layout with two spaces, four spaces or a tab. The delimiter decides whether CSV output uses commas or semicolons, which some European software expects. Root name sets the XML root element and the SQL table name, defaulting to root.

One honest limitation deserves stating: the YAML and TOML parsers cover the common subset of nested key values, arrays and scalars. Anchors, aliases and multi document streams are outside that scope, and hitting one raises an error rather than quietly producing wrong output. Markdown and HTML conversion covers headings, paragraphs, emphasis, code, lists and tables, so deeply nested structures may be simplified.

✨ Key Features

  • Fifteen formats: JSON, XML, YAML, TOML, INI, Properties, CSV, TSV, SQL, Markdown, HTML, JS, Base64, URL and TXT
  • One shared intermediate: the tabular, key value and text routes convert into each other freely
  • Adjustable indent: JSON and XML can be laid out with two spaces, four spaces or a tab
  • Delimiter choice: CSV output switches between comma and semicolon for different regional software
  • Custom root name: set the XML root element and the SQL table name, defaulting to root
  • Local parsing with no third party requests: everything is built in and nothing is uploaded

🚀 How to Use

  1. Paste the content to convert into the input box on the left; any length is fine
  2. Choose the source and target formats on the right, for example YAML to JSON
  3. Set indent, delimiter and root name as needed; each applies only to certain formats
  4. Press start; the result shows on the right along with character counts
  5. Press copy to take the text, or download to save it as a file of that format

⚠️ Things to Note

  • YAML and TOML cover a common subset: Nested values, arrays and scalars work; anchors, aliases and multi document streams raise a clear error
  • Markdown and HTML conversion simplifies: Headings, paragraphs, emphasis, code, lists and tables are covered; deep nesting may be flattened
  • Confirm the source format first: A wrong choice fails to parse, and the tool reports the exact position to help you locate it
  • CSV treats the first row as a header: The first line becomes column names, so a table without headers loses that row when converted
  • Base64 and URL handle text only: Both produce strings and cannot be used to encode binary files
