PDF Extract Pages
e.g. 1-3,5,8-10
How to Use
📖 Tool Introduction
A tool for picking a few pages out of a PDF and saving them as a new file. Upload the document, write which pages you want in the page box using intervals and single numbers together like "1-3,5,8-10", and one click produces a new PDF containing only those pages.
Page numbers you enter are deduplicated and sorted ascending, so repeating 3 twice does not yield two copies, and writing 8 before 2 still puts 2 first. Numbers beyond the actual page count are dropped rather than aborting the run or leaving blank pages behind.
Page content, dimensions and rotation carry over exactly as they were. Once finished you see how many pages were extracted and the output size, so you can confirm before downloading. The whole thing happens locally in the browser, with no upload to any server.
The difference from splitting is worth stating plainly. Splitting cuts the whole document into several pieces by a rule and hands back multiple files; extracting takes only the pages you asked for, combines them into one new file, and discards the rest. So when you need just a few pages this is the quicker route, with no need to split everything and then hunt. Conversely, if the goal is to separate the entire document, the split tool fits better. The two do different jobs and should not be used interchangeably.
If you repeatedly extract the same set of pages, keep that expression somewhere handy and paste it in next time rather than counting pages again. The tool does not remember what you entered last, and every visit starts empty, which is both a privacy decision and a way to avoid reusing stale settings by accident.
You can be liberal when typing a range because the tool backs you up. Duplicated numbers count once, out-of-order entries get sorted, and anything past the total page count is ignored without interrupting the run or producing blank pages. The only case that raises an error is when none of the numbers you entered is valid, and then you get an explicit prompt to check rather than an empty file that looks like success.
✨ Key Features
- Extract by mixing intervals and single pages in one expression
- Numbers deduplicated and sorted ascending, so output order is always right
- Out-of-range numbers dropped instead of aborting or leaving blanks
- Original page size and rotation preserved, no squashing or turning
- Check the total page count before processing to verify your range
- Local browser processing with no upload, works offline
🚀 How to Use
- Click the upload area to pick a PDF, or drag one in
- Type the pages to extract, such as 1-3,5,8-10
- Press start and wait for the progress bar
- Check that the extracted page count and size match what you expected
- Press download to save the new PDF
⚠️ Things to Note
- Page numbers start at 1: Numbers follow the natural reading order, so the first page is 1
- A fully invalid range is reported: If no entered page is valid you get a clear error rather than an empty file
- Very large files hit memory limits: The whole document loads into memory, so extremely long files can fail
- Encrypted PDFs cannot be read: Password-protected files cannot be parsed and report a failure
- Nothing is kept on a server: Output stays on this device and a refresh means processing again
