PDF Merge
Use the arrows to reorder; earlier items come first
How to Use
📖 Tool Introduction
A tool for combining several PDFs into one. Pick files or drag them in, arrange them in the order you want, and one click produces a single merged file to download. The whole thing runs inside your browser, and nothing is uploaded to any server.
The order is adjustable. Each row has up and down arrows for repositioning, and merging follows the list strictly from top to bottom, so whatever sits first ends up first. The file count and total page count update live above the list, so you can confirm before committing.
Bookmarks and page numbering carry over from the source documents rather than being dropped. If one of the PDFs is password protected, the browser cannot read it, and the tool names exactly which file failed instead of quietly skipping it and leaving you believing the merge succeeded.
Merging looks simple but carries a few traps. The obvious one is order: plenty of people assume sorting by filename is enough, yet numbered names routinely produce a10 sitting before a2, so here you arrange things by hand and get exactly what you see. The second is size: the merged file is the sum of all sources plus a little index overhead, so if the inputs are large the result may be awkward to email, which is why the statistics shown beforehand are worth a glance.
One more word about privacy. Every merge happens in this device's memory and no file passes through a server, so contracts, medical records or scanned identity documents that should not leave your hands are safe to process here. The trade-off is that speed depends on your own machine, so give it a moment when combining dozens of files at once and keep the tab open, because content already read in is lost if you close it and you would have to start over.
✨ Key Features
- Merge any number of PDFs at once, with no hard cap as long as memory holds out
- Reorder by dragging or with the up and down arrows; the output follows the list exactly
- Live file and page counts, so you can verify before processing
- Remove any single file at any time without disturbing the others already queued
- Fully local processing with no server upload, and it works offline
- Output size shown before saving, handy for judging whether it is sendable
🚀 How to Use
- Click the upload area to pick PDFs, several at once, or drag files in
- Use the up and down arrows to put the files in the order you want
- Check that the file count and total pages shown above look right
- Press start and wait for the progress bar to finish
- Press download to save the merged PDF
⚠️ Things to Note
- Very large files hit memory limits: Merging loads every file into memory at once, so huge batches can fail. Split them into rounds
- Encrypted PDFs cannot be read: Password-protected files cannot be parsed by the browser and the failing one is named explicitly
- Forms and signatures may be lost: AcroForm fields and some signatures can stop working after merging, so back up important documents first
- Order follows the list: Merging uses the list top to bottom, not filename or the order files were added
- Nothing is kept on a server: The result exists only on this device, and a page refresh means adding files again
