PDF Rotate
How to Use
📖 Tool Introduction
A tool for turning PDF pages. Pick an angle and which pages it applies to, and one click rotates them into a new file. Useful for documents that were fed crooked into a scanner, or for making landscape pages uniformly portrait.
Three fixed angles are offered: clockwise 90, 180, and counter-clockwise 90. The angle is added on top of whatever rotation a page already has rather than replacing it, so a page already turned 90 becomes 180. That matches most people's intuition and avoids accidentally undoing pages someone already fixed.
The scope can be every page or just selected ones. Selected pages use the "1-3,5,8-10" form, mixing intervals and single numbers. When it finishes you see how many pages were rotated and the output size before downloading.
Crooked scans are the most common reason to reach for this, especially when photos taken on a phone are turned into a PDF and the orientation ends up inconsistent. This tool changes direction only and leaves content alone, so there is no text reflow or image misalignment, and apart from which way they face the rotated pages are identical to the originals. If the whole document was fed in at one wrong angle, rotating all pages once is enough; if only a few pages are off, address those pages alone with a range.
A question that comes up often is whether a single page can be turned 90 degrees while the rest stay put. Yes, choose selected pages and enter that one page number, and everything else is untouched. Rotation also has almost no effect on file size, since only an attribute value changes and the page content is never re-encoded, so there is no need to worry about the result growing.
Here is why the angle accumulates instead of being set outright. Each page in a PDF carries its own rotation value that readers apply when displaying, so overwriting it would reset pages you already adjusted the next time you touch the file, which causes mistakes during collaboration or repeated edits. Accumulating makes every operation relative, matching the intuition of turning it once more, and returning to the original orientation means three more quarter turns or one in the opposite direction.
✨ Key Features
- Three common angles selectable in one click: clockwise 90, 180, counter-clockwise 90
- Angles accumulate on existing page rotation instead of overwriting it
- Rotate only chosen pages using mixed interval and single-page expressions
- Rotate a whole document at once, handy for converting landscape to portrait in bulk
- Page numbers deduplicated and sorted, out-of-range numbers ignored
- Local browser processing with no server upload
🚀 How to Use
- Click the upload area to pick a PDF, or drag one in
- Choose clockwise 90, 180, or counter-clockwise 90
- Set the scope to all pages or selected pages
- For selected pages, enter an expression such as 1-3,5,8-10
- Press start, then download to save
⚠️ Things to Note
- Angles accumulate rather than replace: Pages that already carry a rotation get more added, so reset in steps if you need a clean slate
- Only orientation changes, not content: Rotation alters display direction; text and graphics are not re-flowed
- Very large files hit memory limits: The whole document loads into memory, so extremely long files can fail
- Encrypted PDFs cannot be read: Password-protected files cannot be parsed and report a failure
- Nothing is kept on a server: Output stays on this device and a refresh means processing again
