URL Navigator
How to Use
📖 Tool Introduction
The URL navigation plugin gathers the sites you use often, currently scattered across a bookmark bar, chat history and notes, into one board you organise yourself. You create groups by purpose, drop links into them, and from then on opening this page gives you direct access without digging through browser favourites or trying to remember domains you cannot spell.
Groups are a fully custom layer. You can divide them by purpose such as work, study, entertainment and tools, or by project, client or urgency; neither the names nor the count are restricted. Each group collapses independently, so the ones you rarely use can be folded away and the board does not grow longer every time you add something. Groups move up and down to reorder, letting you keep the ones you open most at the top.
Links carry finer detail than a browser bookmark. Alongside the name and address you can write a note explaining what the site is for, plus any number of tags for cross classification. The tool fetches each site icon automatically and, when that fails, builds a letter tile from the first character of the name, so you never end up looking at empty boxes.
Usage is recorded as you go: how many times each link has been opened and when it was last visited. Over time those numbers tell you plainly which sites you genuinely use and which you saved on impulse and never opened again. Sorting can switch to visit count or most recent, which floats the frequently used sites to the front on their own.
Data lives in your browser locally. It is not uploaded to any server and is not tied to an account. That brings one thing to watch: clearing browser data or switching devices will lose the contents, so the plugin offers export and import. The export is a plain JSON file you can archive yourself or copy to another machine to restore. The search box filters live by name, address, note or tag, so even with dozens of links you can locate one immediately.
✨ Key Features
- Custom groups: any number of groups with any names, renameable, deletable, collapsible and reorderable
- Rich link fields: name, address, note and multiple tags, finer than a browser bookmark records
- Automatic site icons: each site icon is fetched automatically, falling back to a letter tile from the name
- Live search filter: instant filtering by name, address, note or tag so even a large board is searchable
- Visit stats and sorting: counts clicks and last visit time, with reordering by popularity or recency
- Import and export: one click exports a standard JSON backup that restores on any device
🚀 How to Use
- Press add group to create categories such as work, study and tools
- Press add link on a group, then fill in the name and address; note and tags are optional
- Alternatively paste an address at the top right and press add to board; name and icon are filled in automatically
- Type in the search box to filter live, or switch the sort order to float frequently used sites upward
- When it is organised, press export backup to save a JSON file, and import it again on another device
⚠️ Things to Note
- Data lives only in this browser: Nothing is uploaded and no account is involved, so export a backup before clearing cache or switching devices
- Icons depend on the site: Some sites publish no icon file, and those fall back to a letter tile from the name
- Deleting cannot be undone: Removing a group also removes the links inside it, so export anything important first
- Visit counts are a local estimate: The counter only increments when you open a link from this board, not when you type the address directly
- Importing replaces what you have: Importing a backup overwrites the whole board, so export the current data first
