How to Use
📖 What this does
Putting work online invites people to lift it, and a client proof needs a "preview only" mark on it - doing that one image at a time in a photo editor is slow and the alignment never matches. This stamps a watermark in the browser. Text can tile across the whole frame or sit in one corner; angle, size, opacity and spacing are all yours to set, and the mark stays legible on dark and light pictures alike. The preview redraws on every change, and what you download is produced at the original resolution rather than shrunk to the preview size, so a four thousand pixel photo comes out four thousand pixels wide. Everything runs locally, so nothing is uploaded.
✨ Features
- Two layouts: tiled, which repeats the mark across the frame at a spacing you set and suits anti-scraping, and single, which drops one mark in one of five corners and suits signing proofs.
- Text watermarks can run to several lines - press Enter for a new one. Size, colour, rotation and opacity are separate controls.
- The outline option strokes a semi-transparent dark edge around the glyphs, so white text on a pale photo no longer dissolves into it.
- A logo watermark is scaled as a percentage of the base image width, so it keeps the same visual weight even when you swap in a differently sized photo.
- Tile spacing is its own slider: open it up for a sparse scatter, take it to zero for a dense overlap.
- Export as PNG, JPG or WebP. If the browser cannot encode WebP it falls back to PNG rather than failing quietly.
🛠 How to use it
- Press Choose image or drop a file on the dashed box. The preview keeps the original proportions.
- Stay on Text and type your wording, or switch to Logo image, upload a mark and set how wide it should be.
- Set size, colour, rotation and opacity. Light marks suit dark photos; on pale ones, tick the outline.
- Pick a layout under Layout and output. Tiled uses the spacing slider; single starts from a corner and then moves with the horizontal and vertical offset sliders.
- Choose a format and press Download. PNG keeps quality, JPG keeps the file small, WebP sits between the two.
⚠️ Before you rely on it
- A watermark is a deterrent, not a lock. Tiling raises the cost of copying, but anyone with an editor can still remove it. Pair it with low-resolution previews for anything that matters.
- JPG drops transparency. Transparent areas of the original come out white. Choose PNG or WebP when you need the alpha channel.
- Font size is in pixels. It does not scale automatically when you load a photo at a very different resolution, so reset it.
- Big images take time. Compositing a thirty or forty megapixel original in a browser takes a few seconds, and the page may stop responding briefly.
- WebP depends on the browser. A few older ones cannot encode it, in which case you get PNG instead and the message says so.
- One image at a time. For a batch, open each file in turn; settings survive the swap, but check the font size again since it is in pixels and the new photo may be a different resolution.
