Online Voice Recorder
Recordings stay in your browser only and are never uploaded to any server
How to Use
📖 Tool Introduction
The Online Voice Recorder is a completely free, install-free recording tool that runs right in your browser. It is perfect for capturing voice memos, lecture snippets, interview clips, quick voice-overs, singing takes and audio notes whenever you do not have a dedicated recorder at hand. The tool directly accesses your device microphone and uses the browser's native MediaRecorder API to encode the audio, and the whole process stays on your machine: your sound never travels to any server, so sensitive recordings such as private conversations and confidential notes remain fully under your control. As soon as you press the record button, a pulsing red status lamp and a running timer appear in the center, and a canvas below draws a live waveform that rises and falls with your voice, so you can instantly see whether the microphone is picking up sound and whether your level is healthy. When you press stop, a built-in audio player appears together with the file size, detected format and duration, letting you listen back straight away and only save the takes you like. The recorder automatically probes which audio MIME types the current browser supports and picks the best encoder, which means it produces WebM in Chrome and Firefox and M4A in Safari, and the downloaded file extension always matches the real container. If the microphone permission is denied or no recording device is found, the tool shows a clear, friendly message instead of failing silently, and it never leaves you guessing what went wrong. The interface is deliberately minimal: one big round button, one timer, one waveform and a small row of actions, and it works equally well on a phone held in front of your mouth and on a desktop headset setup, with no sign-up, no login and no subscription required.
