📖 Tool Introduction

Workday Calculator is a free online tool for project scheduling, attendance counting, leave accounting and contract deadline math. Very often you only know the start and end dates of a task, yet you need to know how many actual working days sit between them: strip away the weekends, then strip away the public holidays, and only what is left can be used to plan schedules and staff. You simply pick a start and end date, tick whether to exclude weekends and whether to exclude public holidays, and instantly get four stat cards: total calendar days, workdays, weekend days and public holidays. The tool ships with a 2026 reference table of China's statutory holidays covering New Year, Spring Festival, Qingming, Labour Day, Dragon Boat, Mid-Autumn and National Day, and the interface clearly states the table is for reference only and that the official State Council notice prevails. Each day in the range is then listed as a date chip, with workdays and rest days grouped separately, and a holiday falling on a weekend is counted only once to avoid double counting. The whole calculation runs locally in your browser with no network call and no upload, which makes it a fast companion for scheduling and attendance work. There is no account to create and nothing to install, so you can settle a deadline question in seconds while sitting in a meeting. Because the range is walked day by day, the workday total stays exact even when a holiday falls mid-week or bridges a long weekend, and you can toggle the exclusions off and on to compare a raw calendar-day count against a working-day count in an instant. This makes it useful not only for scheduling, but also for estimating leave balances, calculating delivery lead times, planning on-call rosters, and checking whether a promised completion date realistically leaves enough working days to do the job.

✨ Key Features

  • Two date pickers: choose a start and end, then enumerate the range day by day
  • Exclude weekends: drop Saturdays and Sundays, keeping Monday to Friday
  • Holiday reference: a built-in 2026 China statutory holiday table you can toggle on
  • Four stat cards: calendar days, workdays, weekend days and holidays at a glance
  • Date chip list: workdays and rest days listed separately without double counting
  • Copy and download: results can be copied or saved as text for scheduling records

📝 How to Use

  1. Pick a start date and an end date
  2. Tick whether to exclude Saturdays and Sundays
  3. Tick whether to exclude public holidays using the built-in 2026 table
  4. Click Calculate to read the four stat cards and the date list
  5. Copy the result or download it for scheduling and attendance records

⚠️ Notes

  • Order check: a start later than the end triggers a clear warning
  • Holiday basis: the built-in table is a 2026 reference; official adjusted days prevail
  • Overlap handling: a holiday on a weekend counts as a holiday, not a weekend day
  • Fully local: the day-by-day walk happens in the browser with no network request
  • Closed range: calendar days include both the first and last date
