Random Picker
How to Use
📖 Tool Introduction
Random Picker is built for all the everyday situations where you need a fair draw: splitting a team building group, picking a restaurant for dinner, deciding whose turn it is on the duty roster, or running a raffle at an event. You simply paste your candidate list into the left text box, one entry per line, and the tool automatically skips blank lines and removes duplicates while counting the total number of candidates in real time. Set how many entries you want to draw, from one up to the full list size, then click Pick Now. The result panel on the right pops the chosen entries as colorful rounded cards that are hard to miss. Under the hood the tool combines the browser crypto secure random source with a partial Fisher Yates shuffle, so every possible combination has exactly equal probability and there is no server side logic quietly favoring one entry. The history panel keeps every draw in reverse chronological order and automatically dedupes identical combinations, so you never stack the same result ten times and mistake it for a pattern. Because the whole process runs locally in your browser, the list is never uploaded, which makes the tool safe for sensitive inputs like employee names, customer lists or student rosters. It is the kind of small utility that removes the awkwardness of who gets picked next in a meeting, and it does so without asking anyone to trust a black box. Teachers can use it to call on students fairly, organizers can split attendees into random breakout rooms, and hosts can run a quick giveaway without bringing a bag of numbered slips to the table. The tool also handles the edge cases gracefully: an empty list produces a friendly warning, a pick count larger than the list tells you so instead of crashing, and duplicates in your input are silently folded into a single entry so the odds stay even for everyone.
