Line Affix Tool
How to Use
📖 Tool Introduction
The Line Affix Tool is a free online batch text processor built specifically to remove the repetitive work of adding symbols, markers and sequence numbers line by line. When you need to turn a plain checklist, a set of to-do items, a block of code comments or meeting minutes into a nicely formatted document with bullets, numbering or quotation marks, typing every prefix and suffix by hand is both slow and error-prone. This tool splits your entire text into lines, inserts a chosen prefix and an optional auto-incrementing number at the start of each line, and appends a chosen suffix at the end, all inside your browser without uploading anything. It offers three numbering styles - decimal digits, lowercase letters and circled symbols - with a configurable starting value, an optional space after the number, and a skip-blank-lines switch that keeps the original layout intact. Every tweak to the options is reflected instantly in the preview strip and the output panel, so what you see is exactly what you get. Whether you are organizing reading notes, generating Markdown lists, adding timestamp markers to log entries, or reformatting a configuration file in bulk, the whole job finishes in one click. The interface is clean, ships in Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese and English, adapts to both desktop and mobile screens, and works fully offline. A built-in example demonstrates the whole pipeline instantly, and the Ctrl+Enter shortcut runs the current configuration without touching the mouse. Because no data ever leaves your browser, the tool is safe to use even with sensitive drafts and confidential notes, and it stays fast no matter how long the source text grows.
✨ Key Features
- Batch prefix: insert the same opening marker or phrase at the start of every line at once
- Batch suffix: append a period, semicolon, closing quote or any ending symbol uniformly
- Three numbering styles: decimal 1., alpha a. and circled ①②③ cover common list needs
- Custom start value: numbering need not begin at 1, ideal for continuing an existing list
- Live preview: the top strip shows the first three lines instantly, no button click needed
- Skip blank lines: empty lines keep their position but receive no affix, preserving layout
📝 How to Use
- Type the opening marker you want in the Prefix box, such as a bullet or indent
- Type the ending symbol in the Suffix box, such as a semicolon or closing quote
- Pick None, Decimal, Alpha or Circled from the numbering dropdown
- Paste your multi-line text into the input area and watch the preview and output update
- When happy, click Copy to grab the result or Download to save it as a text file
⚠️ Notes
- Empty input: when nothing is pasted the preview prompts you to add text first
- Circled range: circled numbers cover the first 50 lines; beyond that parentheses are used
- Alpha carry: after z, letters carry over to aa, ab, matching standard list behaviour
- Original preserved: results go to the output panel, so you can tweak options freely
- Privacy: all computation happens locally in the browser; no text is ever uploaded
