📖 Tool Introduction
The Acrostic Poem Generator is a playful Chinese poetry tool that runs entirely inside your browser. You type a word of two to eight characters, and the tool splits it character by character, makes each character the first character of one poetic line, and then looks up an elegant matching line of either five or seven characters from a built-in verse corpus. The corpus stores well-known classical lines for common characters such as spring, flower, moon, mountain, river, wind, cloud, snow, plum, bamboo, poetry, book, dream, heart, feeling, sky, sea, river, star, bright and clear. When the requested leading character is not in the corpus, the tool automatically completes the line with a poetic template, so that any Chinese character can still become the start of a smooth verse. The finished poem is displayed centered on a rice-paper style card, with the hidden leading characters highlighted in orange, so that reading the first character of every line from top to bottom reproduces exactly the word you entered. You can switch between five-character and seven-character line styles, and the Shuffle button rotates deterministically among the candidate lines in both the corpus and the fallback templates until the tone feels right. The whole poem can be copied or downloaded as plain text in one click, which makes it handy for birthday wishes, confessions, gifts and decorative social posts. Because everything is bundled locally, no network call is ever made, and the tool works equally well offline. The built-in sample loads a common four-character blessing so you can immediately see how the hidden word appears line by line. Switching between five-character and seven-character lines regenerates the poem instantly, which lets you compare the tighter rhythm of the shorter form against the looser, more melodic longer form before you commit. Because the corpus and fallback lists are fixed locally, repeating the same word always yields the same first draft, so you never lose a poem you liked between visits. The whole interface is centered and calm, with generous line spacing and a serif typeface chosen to evoke a handwritten scroll, and the highlighted leading character makes it trivial to verify the acrostic reads correctly. Whether you are composing a birthday greeting, a gift message, or a decorative caption, the tool turns a plain word into a small poetic surprise in seconds.
