📖 Tool Introduction

Image Cropper is a free, instant-use online tool for trimming pictures right inside your browser, so you can cut out exactly the part you need from any photo without installing heavy editing software. Once an image is loaded, you simply press and drag on the canvas to draw a crop box: the area inside stays bright, everything outside is dimmed, and what you see is what you will get. Dragging inside the box moves the whole selection, while the four corner handles let you resize the crop from any corner. To make avatars, covers and ID photos effortless, the tool ships with four common ratio locks — 1:1, 4:3, 16:9 and 3:2 — so choosing one instantly constrains the box to the correct proportions, with no mental math required. The exported crop is always rendered at the original image resolution, which means it stays perfectly sharp even when you zoom in, and it is saved as lossless PNG. Because every operation runs locally in the browser, your photos never touch a server, which makes the tool safe for sensitive shots and internal material. The interface speaks Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese and English, follows the website theme automatically, and works smoothly with touch drag on phones and tablets. The whole workflow — upload, drag, adjust, apply, download — takes only a few seconds, and there is no account, no upload queue and no waiting, so you can crop screenshots, social images and product photos in one sitting. Because the selection is drawn directly on the preview canvas rather than typed into numeric fields, the workflow feels close to a desktop photo editor: you see the frame settle into the ratio you chose, nudge it precisely, and commit. The tool never re-encodes the image while you are still deciding, so every drag remains instant even on large photographs, and the final export always rebuilds the crop from the original pixels instead of re-compressing the preview thumbnail, which keeps fine edges and text crisp. Whether you are trimming a panorama to fit a square feed, isolating a face for an avatar, or cutting away busy borders, the result is ready to download in a few seconds.

📝 How to Use

  1. Click the upload area to choose an image, or drag and drop one onto it
  2. Press and drag on the image to draw a crop box around what you want to keep
  3. For a fixed ratio, click one of the ratio buttons and the box snaps to it
  4. Fine-tune the selection by dragging the box or its corner handles, then click Apply crop
  5. Check the preview and click Download crop to save the result locally

⚠️ Notes

  • File formats: PNG, JPEG, WebP, BMP and the first frame of GIF are supported
  • Very large images: pictures over 20MB should be compressed first to avoid running out of memory
  • Ratio lock behaviour: with a ratio active, corner handles keep the selected aspect ratio
  • Minimum size: selections smaller than 4 pixels cannot be cropped, so zoom in first
  • Original stays safe: cropping creates a new file and never overwrites your original
