Image Rotator & Flipper
How to Use
📖 Tool Introduction
Image Rotator & Flipper is a free online tool for fixing the orientation of pictures, solving everyday problems such as phone photos shot sideways, screenshots that need mirroring, and design assets that need turning around. After you upload an image, the central preview shows the current result instantly, and a button grid below offers six common operations: rotate left 90°, rotate right 90°, rotate 180°, flip horizontally, flip vertically and restore original. Every click stacks the transform on the preview immediately, and after a 90° rotation the output width and height swap automatically, so no manual math is needed. A status line keeps you informed of the current angle, flip state and output dimensions. All transforms are done through Canvas coordinate matrices, and the exported PNG is rendered at the real post-transform resolution, which keeps edges crisp. The whole process runs locally in your browser, your pictures are never uploaded, and images up to 20MB are handled in a flash. The interface is available in Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese and English, and works just as well on desktop as on mobile. Photographers often need this after importing pictures straight from a phone: a portrait shot while the camera was held sideways arrives rotated ninety degrees, and a single turn button fixes it in a blink. Scanned documents sometimes come out upside down, and a horizontal flip reproduces the mirror writing that appears on the back of translucent paper, which is a known trick for deciphering faded notes. Because the tool stacks operations instead of resetting after each click, you can combine a turn and a mirror to reach any orientation you can imagine, the status line keeps you honest about which way the image currently faces, and the exported PNG is rebuilt from the original pixels so it never looks like a magnified preview. Everything happens without uploading a single byte.
✨ Key Features
- Two-way rotation: left and right 90° turns, click repeatedly to reach any angle
- 180° turn: flip an image upside down in one click to fix reversed photos
- Horizontal mirror: left-right flip for selfies and mirrored assets
- Vertical mirror: top-bottom flip to correct scanned documents
- Stacked state: effects accumulate and the current angle and size are always visible
- HD export: the PNG is rendered at the true post-transform resolution, edges stay sharp
📝 How to Use
- Click the upload area to choose an image, or drag and drop it into the dashed box
- Look at the preview to check whether the original orientation is correct
- Click rotation buttons to fix direction, or flip buttons to create a mirror
- Watch the status line to confirm the angle and output dimensions
- Click Download result to save the transformed PNG image
⚠️ Notes
- Stacked effects: repeated clicks accumulate; click Restore original to undo all
- Size swap: after a 90° or 270° rotation, the output width and height exchange
- Animated GIF: only the first frame is processed and animation is not preserved
- Huge images: pictures over 20MB should be compressed first
- Original stays safe: the export is a new file and the local original is untouched
