📖 Tool Introduction

Flashcard Deck is a completely free, offline flashcard review tool built for students and self-learners who want to use spare minutes of the day to memorize facts. Any knowledge point worth remembering can be turned into a pair of cards: a question on the front and an answer on the back, such as a vocabulary word with its definition, a historical year with its event, a formula with its name, or an exam point with a handy mnemonic. When you review, you simply click the card and it flips in a smooth three-dimensional animation from front to back; you silently recall the answer first, then check the back side. This active-recall technique has been repeatedly validated by cognitive science as one of the most efficient ways to move information into long-term memory. The tool ships with a ready-made sample deck of general knowledge, so you can try flipping cards the moment you open the page. You can also add your own cards at any time, and both your deck and your mastery marks are saved automatically inside your browser, which means the next time you open the tool your study session resumes exactly where you left it, with no retyping and no account required. It never goes online, never asks you to register, and never uploads anything, so privacy is fully protected, and it runs smoothly on both desktop and mobile browsers. Students preparing for exams, language learners building vocabulary, and professionals brushing up on technical terms will all find this a handy companion for daily spaced review sessions.

✨ Key Features

  • 3D flip animation: a real perspective rotation reveals the answer, making review feel focused and deliberate
  • Your own deck: write questions on the front and answers on the back, add or delete cards anytime
  • Mastery marking: Know it marks a card learned, Again un-marks it, with a progress bar to show the pace
  • Free navigation: move between cards with previous and next buttons, or shuffle the whole deck instantly
  • Local persistence: the deck and its mastery state are stored locally, so sessions survive page reloads
  • Export and copy: copy the whole deck as text or download it as a file for backup and migration

📝 How to Use

  1. The sample deck is already loaded on first open, so click the center card to feel the flip effect
  2. Use the Add a new card box below to type a question and an answer, then click Add
  3. During review, read the front and silently recall the answer before flipping
  4. If you remember it, click Know it to move on; if not, click Again to revisit it soon
  5. Use Reset progress to start another round, or Sample deck / Clear deck to change the content

⚠️ Notes

  • Local storage: your deck lives in the current browser, so export a backup before clearing browser data
  • Active recall: try to recall before flipping; peeking at the answer halves the learning effect
  • Short daily passes: reviewing during commutes or queues beats one long cramming session
  • One idea per card: keep each card to a single knowledge point, long answers are hard to memorize
  • Fully offline: the tool makes no network request at all and keeps everything on your device
